An important exhibition with rare material of Nafplio collector Christos Kostourou entitled: “Greek advertisements and packaging boxes, 1900-1970. Christos Kostourou collection”, inaugurated on Sunday, December 18, 2022, the mayor of Nafplio, Mr. Dimitris Kostouros, at the cultural site of the Vassilis Papantoniou Foundation,”Sofroni 13″. The exhibition was organized with the cooperation of the municipality of Nafplio, DOPPAT and the Vasilis Papantoniou Foundation. The architectural design was done by Mr. Stamatis Zannos and the prints by Paskalidis Color Lab and Ιkona N. C. CHRISTOPOULOS A.E.

The mayor of Nafplio, Mr. Dimitris Kostouros, in his greeting, referred to the role that advertisements and packaging boxes play in the support of each business as well as the role played, especially by local businesses, in the evolution of society. He also referred to the patterns of consumption and life that were projected and how one can study the evolution of Greek society through the consumption behaviors of its members. Finally, he pointed out the important source of information that can be drawn on the history and ideology of various periods of recent Greek history as recorded in advertisements and packaging boxes.

The collector Mr. Christos Kostouros then gave a tour of the exhibition attended by the Deputy Regional Governor of Argolida D. Schinochoritis, the president of Municipal Organization Of Culture-Environment-Sports-Tourism M.Ralli, Deputy Mayor P. Lentzos, the president of the Vassilis Papantoniou Foundation, Mrs. Ioanna Papantoniou, the Vice President, Mrs. Georgia Samaras, the treasurer of the Foundation, Mr. George Patrinos, the board member of the Foundation, Mr. Popi Kalkounou and many friends and associates of the foundation.

The exhibition is open daily from December 19 to January 29, 2023, with a working day of 10.00 p.m. – 2.00 m.m.
