ESTIA Neas Smyrnis, celebrating the anniversary of the Greek Independece, organizes the speech of the Historian – Author Mrs Margarita Dimitriadou entitled:

“Holy Monasteries, the great ally of the victorious Greek National Revolt of 1821”

The contribution of the Holy Monasteries over time to the course of the Greek nation was great, especially during the events of 1821.
The presence and contribution of Monasticism had a profound impact not only on the historical continuity of Hellenism, but also on the whole political and economic scene of the Balkans and the East.

The youth choir of the Athens Conservatory under the direction of Ms Alexandra Mitsopoulou participates in the event.
