The Clotheslines digital fashion archive draws its primary material from the private collections of contemporary fashion designers, aiming to preserve and highlight the process of garment making. It presents twelve designers, design groups and artistic collectives active in Greece, through twelve selected garments and accessories, accompanied by relevant documentation – sketches, photographs, technical drawings, etc. At the heart of the archive are the patterns of the garments, highlighting their role in the process of designing and implementing each creation. Visitors to the archive can browse the selected garments through high-resolution photographs, read detailed information and download life-size patterns for research and educational purposes.

CLOTHESLINES is a non-profit cultural initiative that aims to research, produce and promote alternative and sustainable approaches to clothing and fashion. CLOTHESLINES’ activities include producing publications, developing and managing archives, participating in intercultural and interdisciplinary projects, and designing exhibitions and educational programs. CLOTHESLINES was founded in Athens in 2021 by designer Eleftheria Arapoglou and researcher – costume designer Meti Tsoukatou.
