This exhibition, the first of its kind to be held at the National Library of Greece, is dedicated to the work of Evangelia Biza, which, while formally classified in the field of artistic bookbinding, has for some years moved to the wider world of artistic creation. It was organized with a lot of love by people, inside and outside the NLG, who greatly appreciate her work and some have even apprenticed with her. The Applied Arts, in which the art of bookbinding also ranks, require a self-discipline which often does not sympathize with the artistic temperament. Biza proved that she can combine both, from the first moment she appeared in the bookbinding field. Her work at the end of the 80s, shortly after the end of her basic studies, while strictly adhering to the technique and rules of classical bookbinding contain at the same time the seeds that will develop and prevail in her subsequent works.

The work of Evangelia Biza is characterized by diverse and sometimes conflicting assumptions, which makes her a sui generis Bookbinder, which has understandably attracted attention, not only at the national level. With a solid foundation in conservation, a deep knowledge of the rules that govern art and absolute respect for them, but at the same time with ingenuity and innovation, he has not been afraid to bypass the beaten track. He experiments with techniques, constructs completely functional books with new structures, always works with the approach of perfection in execution in mind. Serving the classic and at the same time with a clear tendency towards modernity, he has created early personal style, without in the course of time repeating himself. In recent years he has almost abandoned the bookbinding of literary books. Her creative vein leads her exclusively to her own books-constructions, where she feels that she has to submit new proposals, innovative solutions, original ideas.
