The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and the Historical Archive – Museum of Hydra have the pleasure and honor to invite you to the presentation of the book by the author Irida Panagiotopoulou entitled: “Mapping of the Settlement of Hydra, Historical Documents” which will take place on Saturday 9 July 2022 at 20.30′, at I.A.M.Y.

It is a comprehensive study that spans in two volumes and presents the evolution of the settlement of Hydra and the emblematic buildings of our Island. The natural landscape of the Island, the topography and geography of the area where the settlement of Hydra developed, its urban structure, the interpretation of the unique Hydra settlement from an aesthetic point of view and the identification by the author of 150 Hydra buildings, are presented in relief for the first time through her thorough research in mainly archival material.

Speakers at the event will be Nikolaos Pantelidis, Professor of Linguistics at the University of Athens, Maria Kountoura, Professor of Literature and Theory of Literature, Emerson College Boston and the author Iris Panagiotopoulou, Urban Architect, while Konstantinos Mazarakis-Ainian, Director General of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, will address the audience.

The moderator is Konstantina Adamopoulou, archivist – historian, Director of the I.A.M.Y.

The presentation will be followed by a reception.
