On Saturday 27 January 2024 at 12:00, the 3rd meeting of the members of the Book Club will take place at the OAC Library “The Light”, with a general theme: “Greek and foreign prose writers against the background of Crete”.

The meeting will discuss the novel by Lilly Troulinou, entitled: ” Chrysovalante and Onoufris – Transformations”, published by Perispomene Editions.

Two young teachers in a vocational high school in a rural province of Crete, Ioanna, a philologist, and Smaragdi, an aesthetician, celebrate five years of knowing each other by recalling the acquaintance of two twin students, a boy and a girl, whose similarity and incestuous coexistence escalate in a dreamlike way. Chrysovalante and Onoufris, a pair of adolescent twins of astonishing similarity and ideal self-sufficiency, test the limits of their relationship and are put to the test in the harsh environment of the rural Cretan countryside. The only path open to desire is transformation.
