The National Library of Greece presents a new episode of the podcast series “Art in the Spotlight,” titled “Synastry: Travelers of the Universe – Paths to Human Self-Knowledge.” The episode is dedicated to the group exhibition of the same name, which was held in the Atrium on the 4th floor of the National Library of Greece, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, from September 16 to October 4, 2026.
The discussion examines how the exhibition brought together visual art, poetry, astronomy, and the history of the book. The starting point is the concept of “synastry,” which is not treated as an astrological prediction but as a system for interpreting relationships, affinities, and unexpected correspondences between humans, the earth, and the heavens.
The exhibition, conceived and initiated by Lefteris Moisidis and curated and written by Kostas Prapoglou, featured 20 visual artists and 14 poets. The contemporary works engaged in a dialogue with rare books, manuscripts, and artifacts related to cosmography, astronomy, and astrology from the Special Collections of the National Library of Greece.
The podcast highlights the dialogue between older and contemporary works, as well as how the observation of the sky sparks questions about memory, knowledge, the unknown, and human self-awareness.
This episode is part of the series “Art in the Spotlight,” through which the National Library of Greece engages in conversations with artists and curators about its temporary visual arts exhibitions and issues concerning the relationship between art and literature. It is available on the official YouTube channel of the National Library of Greece and on Spotify.
