After a period of change for EAP Publications, Manolis Pimplis, a well-known personality in the field of publishing, exhibitions and books in general, takes up the position of Director of EAP Publications.

Manolis Pimplis was born in Athens and studied law. But soon he was won over by journalism. He worked at the newspaper “Ta Nea” from 1994 to 2018 in cultural reporting, as editor-in-chief of cultural pages and as head of the insert “Bookstore” (2012-2018), while he was also a co-presenter of the ERT1 TV show “Books in the box” (2006-2008). In the period 2010-2014 he worked with the Onassis Foundation’s House of Letters and Arts, as head of the series of events “Words and Thoughts”. From 2017 to 2020 he was the Director of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair, in the framework of which he organized hundreds of events in the field of books and ideas. Since 2018 he has been working at the Parliament Channel where he maintains the weekly show “Vibliovulio”, which he edits and presents. He writes articles for the Journal of the Journalists and edits a book insert in the newspaper “Epochi”. This year he is completing a two-year postgraduate studies at the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the University of Athens, having done a thesis on topics such as “The Greek Press before the Revolution: The First Greek Newspaper”, “The Friendly Society”, “Albanian Nationalism”, “Savvas Konstantopoulos in the Post-Communist era”, “Police Novel: Edgar Allan Poe and Maurice Leblanc”, “Editorial Politics and Mindsets. Social and cultural role consciousness in contemporary Greek publishers”. Finally, she has published a collection of poetry and short stories in edited volumes, and has translated ten literary books from French for publishing houses such as “Polis”, “Metaixmio”, “Stereoma”, “Livanis”, “Estia”.
