Spurred by the pandemic, the action attempts to update our contact with our cultural past, in order to plan our post-pandemic future.

The inter-artistic action titled ‘On the Need for Breathing’, Post-pandemic Futures is included in this year’s cultural program All of Greece, one Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and takes place at the archeological site of the Galerian Palace Complex in Thessaloniki.

Drawing inspiration from the ancient Asclepieia and their dynamics as symbols of historical memory related to healing and spurred by the pandemic, the action attempts to update our contact with our cultural past, in order to plan our post-pandemic future. Beginning from ancient medical texts (Galenus) and ancient Greek ideological and philosophical conceptions of health, the action ‘On the Need for Breath’, Post-Pandemic Futures, is a commentary and an aesthetic rupture in the “city of confinement” that have emerged due to the prevention measures against Covid19.
