The Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation, the Dean’s Office of the School of Fine Arts, AUTH and the Association of Friends of the Telloglio Foundation, AUTH, are organizing an honorary exhibition with events for the three Professors of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts, AUTH, Professors Emeritus Manolis Giannadakis, Xenis Sachinis and Yorgos Tsakiris .
For the first time, all three are present together, in a unique exhibition with approximately seventy (70) works, representative of almost their entire work.
With this exhibition, a very important circle closes as all three of them were pioneers for the Department of Visual and Applied Arts. More specifically, Manolis Giannadakis and Xenis Sachinis were the founders of the Direction of Engraving, which they made equal to the counterparts of Painting and Sculpture, with effort and struggles. Giorgos Tsakiris, who studied at the School of Fine Arts in Florence and was influenced by Arte Povera, is the creator and most distinguished representative of Agrotechni and Biotechni in Greece today.
“Εxceptional colleagues and enlightened teachers, they taught generations of young artists with their knowledge and their example, operating their art as a religion, with absolute dedication, vision and goal” says about the honored artists the Dean of the School of Fine Arts of the AUTH, Mrs. Stella Lavva, in the brochure of the exhibition.
As part of the exhibition, there will be three honorary events for each artist (September 18-20), details of which will be announced soon.
