For a fourth year, annexM, under the direction of Anna Kafetsi, continues its curatorial policy of site-specific exhibitions and artworks and organizes the two-month summer exhibition that opens daily after sunset and until midnight in the Garden of the Megaron Athens Concert Hall

In this year’s program, which introduces a thoughtful, underground dialogue with the anniversary year 2021 and the 200 years since the Greek Revolution, annexM launched the exhibition titled Marginalia, with participating artists Virginia Mastrogiannaki, Nina Papa, Ilias Mamaliogas and Spyros Vrachoritis.

The title of the exhibition (from the Latin margo, marginis: margin) refers, in its literal sense, to the notes and all kinds of signs and images written or drawn by readers in the margins of books and texts – a practice that goes back centuries, in the notes and comments made by the copyists of biblical and classical manuscripts, for functional and interpretive use. It also refers to a special editorial category, in which authors or editors publish collections of short texts, scattered thoughts and excerpts.

The works of the exhibition, in which margin notes – either as art mediums or narrative practices –  are used in different ways and with different meanings, are presented in an open, fragmentary form, maintaining at the same time their independence and a dialogue between them.
