Michalis Manousakis presents the exhibition “Art Intelligence. A Half-Breath Flashback“, a multidimensional retrospective of his long career in art, organized under the auspices of the Athens School of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Culture and OPANDA.
The exhibition brings together some 200 works that express his personal anxieties, emotions and quests and cover the period 1969-2024: old and new works – some of which are being shown for the first time – paintings, sculptures, installations, video games and works by friends. In the “Nikos Kessanlis” hall of the ASFA, the artist captures his thoughts through a journey of narratives, colours, rhythms and images that echo his deepest psyche.
With a theme that highlights the timeless values of returning to the roots, rebirth and everyday hope, Manousakis creates a visual and emotional experience. His work is a testimony of memory and personal moments, a journey between light and darkness.
The exhibition marks another milestone in his long career, as Michalis Manousakis bids farewell to the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he served as a permanent professor from 1987 to 2020. Through this exhibition, Manousakis bows to his loves and passions, considering that none of them belong to him and that all of them are occasions for another opportunity for a silent exchange of views on the time that has passed, on what we are living and on what we still have to do, which is too much.
