Following two highly successful performances in September, Nikos Kyrtsos continues his artistic journey this year with a major stop in Thessaloniki. On October 7, he will perform in Dimitris Maramis’s “Τhe Haunted” at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall as part of the 61st Dimitria Festival, one of the city’s most important cultural institutions.

With a background in classical music and significant stage experience, Nikos Kyrtsos has worked in recent years across opera, musicals, contemporary musical theater, and Greek song. Among the roles he has performed are Papageno in The Magic Flute, Sky in Mamma Mia!, the Musician in Nikos Kypourgos’s “Silence, the King Is Listening,” and the Young Man in Nikolaos Tzortzis’s “The Dead Man and the Resurrection,” which was staged at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera.

At the same time, in recent years he has been developing his creative side by writing music for songs by Melina Mavidou.

This season began for Nikos Kyrtsos with the nationwide premiere of Dimitris Maramis’s new rock opera, “Hercules the Furious,” on September 21, in which he played the role of Amphitryon. The premiere was met with an enthusiastic response in Thebes, and a few days later, on September 24, Nikos Kyrtsos and Melina Mavidou performed their own songs for the first time on a large stage at the “Together” concert at Aretzou Beach in Thessaloniki, in a performance that was also warmly received.

Now, the spotlight returns to Thessaloniki, this time for a production that has already made its mark on the contemporary Greek musical theater scene.

For Nikos Kyrtsos, his participation in The Haunted is a continuation of his long-standing artistic collaboration with Dimitris Maramis, as well as a period marked by a strong stage presence. From *Hercules Unleashed* to The Haunted and from musical theater to contemporary Greek song, Kyrtsos continues to explore different musical genres while gradually shaping his own creative identity.
