Thousands of citizens and visitors of Patras will celebrate this year’s Carnival through a series of activities organized by the Municipality and the Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise “Carnival of Patras“.
Overlooking the Patraikos, kite flying, Lenten delicacies, music, singing and dancing will be the dominant element of the day, with events starting early in the morning.
Despite the difficult conditions, this year the Municipal Authority will celebrate with the people on Ash Monday, turning the area of the plaza of the municipality of Patras (Educational Action Area), the South Park and the “Red Mill” in Patras Beach, into a “beehive” of fun and joy.
The festive message of the day will be reflected through the actions with the long-term effort of the municipality to strengthen the struggle to prevent the surrender of the land to business circles and full concession of the coastal front to the people of Patras.
The full program of events is as follows:
- 11: 30 – 15.00 PUBLIC PLAZA (EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AREA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF PATRAS)
The rhythm of the Public Plaza of Patras for four hours will be set by the REPLICA band through its musical program
- 11:30 – 15.00 SOUTH PARK
At South Park the music group of Angelos Gitonopoulos will leave its own mark with modern and old folk songs.
- 11:30 – 15.00 Patras Beach (Red Mill)
“Minore Parapono” will “dress up” musically this Ash Monday at the “Red Mill” performing folk songs.
