Tonis Spiteris was one of the first Greek art critics while Ioanna Spiteris was an important sculptor. The corner building of the early 20th century was the couple’s residence. In 1955 they commissioned the design and construction of the second small atelier building next to their house to the architect Aristomenes Provelengios, whose works, texts, and radical views remind us that architecture can change things. This building was reconstructed and is now owned by the architect Dionysis Sotovikis, continuing its life as a space of contemporary expression.

On the occasion of the major retrospective sculpture exhibition Ioanna-Giovanna-Jeanne Spiteris/Spiteris" at the Teloglion Foundation of Arts in Thessaloniki (10 March – 4 June 2023), Spiteris' house and studio will be open to the public on the following dates: Wednesday 10 May
2023, and Thursday 25 May 2023, 19:00-21:00. A video of the exhibition and a few sculptures by Spiteris will allow the viewer to penetrate the
atmosphere of her space, guided by the architect Dionysis Sotovikis.
