The Office of Hydrocommons and ATOPOS present on Wednesday, 5 June 2024 from 19:00 to 22:00 the solo exhibition of Maria Nikiforaki entitled “Hydrodance: Elephant Cave” which will be held at the Hammam on Katre Street in Chania with the support of the Region of Crete.

The exhibition will be on view until June 22, 2024. “Hydrodance: Elephant Cave” explores the protection of biodiversity in Mediterranean underwater caves from human activities and proposes a new approach based on the symbiotic relationship between human bodies, mammals and bodies of water. The artwork “Hydrodance: Elephant Cave”, from which the exhibition takes its name, was created during underwater filming in the eponymous cave at Drepano, Municipality of Apokoronas highlighting the area’s precious natural treasure.
