The School of Applied Arts and Sustainable Design of the Hellenic Open University (ΗΟU) announces the participation of faculty members in the international project SLSIM – Smart Learning for Sustainable Innovation in Mozambique, which is implemented in the framework of cooperation between European and African universities and organisations.

SLSIM project (https://slsim.eap.gr/) aims to enhance the quality of higher education in Mozambique through the use of digital technologies and the promotion of innovative and sustainable educational practices. The HOU’s participation in the project focuses on the transfer of know-how in the field of design, communication and development of educational materials using creative and technical means.

In the framework of the project activities, a delegation of the HOU is going to visit Mozambique in early April 2025, with the aim of on-site cooperation with local universities, providing training seminars and supporting the development of educational resources and methodologies. The scientific coordinator of the project on the part of the HOU is Associate Professor Lambros Doulos, who leads the University team and coordinates the relevant activities and together with Professor Stelios Zerefos, will offer their valuable experience and expertise in lighting education and sustainability issues.

The participation of the EAP in this project highlights the international character of the University and its commitment to promoting extroversion, equal access to knowledge and the enhancement of sustainable education at a global level.
