The internationally acclaimed sculptor and painter Kostis Georgiou, after his major retrospective exhibition at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center, which was a great success and attracted thousands of visitors, and then his highly successful solo exhibition at Kapopoulos Fine Arts in Kolonaki, returns dynamically to the international scene and to familiar waters.

The artist launches his new collaboration with Bel-air Fine Arts – Kapopoulos Fine Arts and in the context of the 60th Venice Biennale, which opened its doors on 20 April 2024, the monumental sculpture by Kostis Georgiou “Equus” will be exhibited at Giardini Marinaressa until the end of the Biennale in November.

His monumental sculptures “Corpus” and “Eutopia” will also be exhibited until the end of November at the main entrance of Palazzo Mora, as part of a major global exhibition organized by the European Cultural Center (ECC) under the general title “Personal Structures“. Every two years within the Venice Biennale and the ECC, pioneering artists, photographers and academic institutions are invited to explore themes of Time, Space and Existence, offering diverse perspectives on contemporary art. By encouraging inclusion and dialogue, the project aims to inspire new ideas and experiences accessible to all.

During the same period and under the organization of Bel-air Fine Arts and Kapopoulos Fine Arts, the artist’s works are now exhibited in the permanent exhibition of Bel-air Fine Arts in Venice.

The Biennale is known to attract thousands of art lovers, collectors and art enthusiasts from all over the world. The grand opening and cocktail party at Giardini Marinaressa for vip visitors and collectors took place on 18 April from 11 am to 7 pm. The interest was unprecedented, the attendance was impressive and the reviews were rave.

At Palazzo Mora the opening for collectors and vip took place on 20 April. The turnout was so large, to the point that it was extremely difficult to move visitors. The standard of the exhibits and the participating artists is extremely high, with names that dominate the international art scene.

A luxurious 600-page scrapbook has been published.

Kostis Georgiou has had over 150 solo and 400 group exhibitions in major museums and galleries in Greece and abroad. His work has been discussed by prominent Greek and foreign art historians, the Greek and international press and has been the subject of tributes and interviews in television networks, newspapers and magazines, while more than 50 albums have been published that refer to his work.

His works can be found in museums and private collections around the world. His works have also been auctioned at Sotheby’s, Bonham’s and Christie’s.

At the same time, Kostis Georgiou is preparing for his solo exhibition, with paintings and monumental sculptures, at the Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair 2024 in Thessaloniki with Agathi Kartalos Gallery, from 23 to 26 May.
