Based in New York, with performances ranging from Carnegie Hall to WOMEX, collaborations with leading musicians on the international scene, appearances at the Grammy Awards, and a career firmly rooted in promoting Greek music abroad, Erini will continue in the summer of 2026 with a series of major performances in Greece and abroad.

Just a few days after her participation in the events marking the inscription of the Minoan Palace Complexes on the UNESCO World Heritage List—where she served as the concert’s artistic director and took center stage— the singer and professor at Berklee College of Music brings the voice of Greek tradition to life in a contemporary way at three iconic locations: Kastellorizo, Italy, and Samos.

An international career with roots in Crete

Drawing inspiration from her Eastern Mediterranean roots, Erini—who was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete—has dedicated her artistic career to promoting Greek music around the world, with an emphasis on our country’s musical traditions.

Her international presence is also reflected in her ever-increasing number of performances in Asia; in less than two years, she has participated in major cultural and television events. Among these, her performance of the traditional song “From a Foreign Land” on Hunan TV, one of the country’s largest television networks; her appearance on Beijing Radio & Television Station in 2025; and her participation as a guest artist at the international Golden Panda Awards.

Alongside her artistic career, Erini also stands out for her academic achievements: since 2019, she has been teaching at Berklee College, and she has presented Greek music at leading universities such as Harvard, Princeton, and Tufts.

The Feminine Spirit of Rizitiko and the Grammy Awards

Her participation in Danilo Pérez’s album *Crisálida*, which was nominated for a Grammy Award, laid the foundation for a significant career in the international arts scene. At the same time, her submission in 2026—for the same award—of a contemporary interpretation of the classic rizitiko “Se psilo vounó” was her way of introducing the world to the feminine spirit of Greek musical tradition.

“I want to highlight the intangible cultural heritage of Crete and Greece […] but also to convey the message that women have a place and a voice in rizitiko song, something that is still not taken for granted,” she had stated regarding her choice of the song, which sparked debate, highlighting the differing perceptions surrounding a musical genre traditionally associated with male voices.

She “brings to life” tradition with a contemporary perspective

With more than 1,000 performances as the lead singer for Cirque du Soleil’s production “Kurios,” appearances at top venues such as Carnegie Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, and the London Jazz Festival, as well as concerts across Europe, America, and Asia, Erini “transforms” tradition with contemporary sounds and aesthetics, showcasing our country’s musical heritage and cultural legacy.

  • The next stop on this year’s summer concert tour is the Near & Far Kastellorizo International Music Festival on June 25, a multi-themed cultural festival that bridges the “near” with the “far,” Greece with the diaspora, and art with the community.
  • On July 25, Erini will perform at the Mittelfest festival in Cividale del Friuli, Italy, presenting the work “FOS,” a deeply personal musical performance inspired by the Asia Minor Catastrophe and the memory of uprooting. She will be joined on stage by Sofia Efkleidou and Giorgos Kontogiannis.
  • Her summer tour concludes on August 14 at the Samos Young Artists Festival with a musical journey that blends tradition and contemporary influences, in collaboration with musicians from Greece.

With her first solo album being released internationally by Ropeadope and Minos EMI, and with significant new artistic developments expected in the coming months, Erini continues her musical journey this summer from Crete to the world, always guided by the musical traditions of Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.
