The Historical Archive Museum of Hydra is going to host for the whole month of July 2023 the well-known visual artist Argyro Leventis in an extremely interesting exhibition entitled “Trees and Ships“.

Argyro Leventi studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts with professors like Nikos Nikolaou and Yiannis Moralis. In her exhibition she presents works of large and medium dimensions worked with oil and mixed techniques on canvas and paper. Ships in the harbor and huge trees that seem to be alive dominate everywhere.

This approach is both subjective and objective, with references to matters of reality, which have been transferred to the canvas with a dreamlike perception, with desires, sensations, and memories.

Argyro Leventi always works with the same inexhaustible aesthetic sensitivity, the same sincerity and honesty, the same estrus of both her soul and her paint brushes. In this way, she manages to transform simple everyday experiences into an extremely expressive art. Her most striking feature is the vivid colors of her trees and the mist of the past in the ships and the depicted engines
