A dance and music performance inspired by William Shakespeare’s play of the same name.

As for William Shakespeare’s play of the same name, additional dramatic material is drawn from its ending—specifically, the idea of a play within a play—and from the overarching theme of dreams as explored by the English poet, and consequently from the relationship between dreams and artistic creation.

Accompanied by acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, the five dancers perform sequences of movements in various combinations. The modular choreography does not aim for a narrative representation of these references but, on the contrary, its primary medium will be the intense and multifaceted movement vocabulary in dialogue with short prose excerpts that will introduce the audience to the different parts of the performance. The ballet contrasts with and engages in dialogue with movements of all kinds, producing a unique language that harmonizes with the music and seeks absolute concentration on the kinetic composition and control of the dancing instrument—that is, the human body.
