The Research and Innovation Support Service of the University of Cyprus is accepting applications for the filling of two (2) full-time vacancies for a Project Support Specialist for the financial monitoring of the University’s research projects funded from external and internal sources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of the Sector Coordinator and the general supervision of the Head of the Research and Innovation Support Service:
- Monitoring the progress of budget implementation of research projects funded either by external or internal funding
- Guidance to the Principal Investigator(s) regarding financial management issues of internally and/or externally funded Research Projects/Foundations/Initial Funding
- Handling all relevant controls for the preparation of Financial Statements, to Financiers including entries in the various platforms
- Preliminary eligibility check based on the regulations of the respective funding programme and the internal regulations of the University of Cyprus
- Study of contracts, in particular the financial terms of Research Projects/Foundations/Initial Funding/
- Preparing and providing information to external auditors and the University’s internal auditor and/or other body acting as auditors
- Contact with funding agencies for handling financial issues of research projects
- Study of minutes of decisions (Council, Senate, Rector’s Council, Research Committee, Finance and Tenders Committee etc.) and actions based on them
- Preparation of reports and analyses requested by the University leadership or external bodies
- Entry of accounting records in the accounting systems of the University of Cyprus
- Any other duties assigned to him/her by the Head of Service.
