On the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of their bookstore, Anavasi Publications announces a travel literature contest.

At a time when social media flood us daily with images and videos of travel interest, Anavasi Publications seeks the experience that does not fit in a click, the travel narrative beyond photography.

1. The works must be literary texts, of a travel nature, in the Greek language, in the form of a novel, a novella, or a collection of short stories of 20,000-40,000 words in length.
2. Anavasi Publications expects to receive prose and not essays, journalistic texts, poetry collections or photo albums.
3. The opening date for submissions is Friday 1 March 2024 and the closing date is Wednesday 31 July 2024.
4. The results will be announced in 2024 at an event organised for the award ceremony.
5. The winning work will be published by Anavasi Publications.
6. The competition is open to all adults, regardless of their place of residence and nationality.
7. Entries should be sent exclusively by email with the title “Participation in the travel literature competition” to [email protected]. Two (2) attachments must be included in the message: One (1) *.doc/.docx (word) file containing the work to be submitted and one (1) other *.doc/.docx (word) file containing the entrant’s full name, date of birth, mailing address, contact phone number and email.
8. Each participant is entitled to submit one work, written in Greek, which must be original, written entirely by him/her, must not be the product of translation, must not have been published in print or electronically in the past (including on social media) and must not have been awarded a prize in another literary competition.
9. By participating, each participant accepts that his/her work will be evaluated, that he/she agrees with the terms of the competition and accepts the decision of the jury, which is final and cannot be questioned.
