
The Ministry of Culture invites curators, art historians, art historians, art critics and art theorists with experience in organizing and curating exhibitions together with artists, as well as artists together with the aforementioned, in the context of the national participation in the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, which will take place from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
The deadline for the submission of proposals is 30 May 2025, Friday at 14:00.
Proposals should be submitted by email to [email protected] and the total size of the digital files should not exceed 18 MB. Interested parties are invited to fill in the special form available at http://greeceatvenice.culture.gr/, which must be accompanied by visual material in digital format showing the proposed works and their presentation in the Greek pavilion area.
It is noted that the details of the contributors and the summary description of the proposals submitted will be published on the relevant website of the Ministry of Culture and Culture. (http://greeceatvenice.culture.gr/).

According to article 68 of Law 4481/2017, the evaluation of the proposals and the opinion on the final selection is made by an unpaid 7-member Committee composed of:
- A professor of any rank of the School of Fine Arts or the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (rotating)
- A professor of any level of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia or the Department of Plastic Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina (rotating)
- A representative of the National Museum of Contemporary Art
- A representative of the Metropolitan Organization of Thessaloniki Fine Arts Museums
- A representative of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum
- A representative of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece
- A representative of the International Association of Art Critics – Greek Section (AICA HELLAS)
The professors and representatives are nominated by the above-mentioned institutions and the chairman of the Committee is elected by its members. The decision to set up the Committee shall appoint an official of the Directorate for Visual Arts, Architecture, Photography and Museums of Contemporary Culture as secretary. The participants in the national participation (artists and curators) are selected on the basis of a proposal from the Commission, following a decision by the Minister of Culture, which is published by the end of July of the year preceding the event.
