The Friends of Music Society in collaboration with the Athens Concert Hall announces two two-year scholarships for specialization in organ with the distinguished soloist and organist of the Athens Concert Hall, Urania Gassiou.

The special study programme, starting in autumn 2024, will take place in the organ of the Athens Concert Hall. The scholarships are kindly sponsored by Mrs. Efi Averoff and Mrs. Ioli Pakis.

Greek candidates with exceptional talent on the piano or organ, aged up to 34 years old, should be:

a) Graduates or students of recognized Conservatories in piano at the level of B Higher and above or

b) Graduates or students of Music Studies of Greek Universities or

c) ABRSM diploma holders, at least Grade 8

Repertoire of hearings (the total duration of the programme should not exceed 20 minutes)

  1. J.S. Bach: A Prelude and a Fugue in at least three voices from the “Well-behaved Keyboard” (from volume 1 or 2).
  2. One or more works of the contestant’s free choice from the classical, romantic or contemporary period.
