The Municipality of Chania in co-organization with the Region of Crete, will hold a pre-festival event of the 3rd Chania Book Festival with the participation of the award-winning French author Karyl Ferey, on Thursday 23 May 2024, at 20:30, at the Theater “Mikis Theodorakis”, Katehaki Square – Venetian port of Chania.

The author will talk with journalist Kyriaki Beyoglou on the occasion of the publication of his new novel Okavango (translation: Argyro Makaroff, Agra Publications) and will take questions from the audience. The event will be introduced by Manolis Pimplis, director of the Chania Book Festival and Stavros Petsopoulos, publisher.

From Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 June 2024, the Chania Book Festival returns for the third consecutive year, co-organised by the Municipality of Chania and the Region of Crete. With a renewed programme and the central theme “Europe, past and future“. As in the two previous years, the Chania Book Festival will take place in the Venetian Harbour of Chania, between the Centre for Mediterranean Architecture and the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre. With the participation of important Greek and foreign writers, academics and intellectuals, panels around topical themes, both from the field of literature and from the field of society, as well as book presentations, the Chania Book Festival returns for its 3rd edition through innovative actions, aiming to become a meeting place for book people from Greece and around the world.
