The Youth Parliament – Steps of Democracy: Practicing participation is an educational program organized annually by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The author Antonis Samarakis was the first chairman of the Committee and a strong supporter of the program.

The program reaches its peak at the five-day Summit in Athens (July). Through discussions with Members of Parliament and experts, the 300 student representatives present their own views and suggestions, while attending a specially designed program of cultural events.

On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, the online works of the 25th Summit of the Youth Parliament will begin. One hundred and sixty-five teenagers from the high schools of Greece and from Greek high schools abroad will meet in groups and in plenary. This year’s theme is “My Environment, My Place, My World”.

The works of the Summit will be completed on Friday, July 16, 2021, with the plenary session of the Youth Parliament that will be held online in the Senate Hall and will be chaired by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas.
