Description
The main subject of the Master’s program includes the prediction, protection and response or mitigation of hydrometeorological disasters.
The purpose of the program is: (a) The study of extreme weather and climate phenomena, such as floods, droughts, typhoons, etc. (b) The promotion of scientific research conducted internationally in this field of Civil Engineering science. (c) The creation of scientists – researchers who will have the background and the necessary knowledge to produce independent and original scientific research and to offer specialized work. (d) The more effective treatment of the country’s needs in technical Civil Engineering projects in relation to hydrometeorological disasters management, by providing specialized personnel for the study, analysis, design and management of these projects.
TARGET AUDIENCE
In this Master program can be accepted graduates or diploma holders of all University Departments and Schools and Technical Universities of a related subject, holders of a 5-year or 4-year study degree of Greek Universities or recognized equivalent foreign Universities.
LANGUAGE OF TEACHING AND EXECUTION OF DIPLOMATIC WORK
Courses are taught in the Greek, but it is possible to fully or partially structure the studies in the English, when the number of foreign language postgraduate students per course exceeds five (5). The writing language of the Master’s Thesis is Greek and in special cases English.
DURATION OF STUDY AND CREDIT UNITS
The duration for the awarding of the Postgraduate Studies Diploma is defined in two (2) semesters and in the summer period (intensive program). The total number of credits (ECTS) required to obtain the Master diploma is 75 ECTS. For the awarding of the Graduate Diploma, attendance and a successful examination in a total of ten (10) six-month courses, each corresponding to in six (6) ECTS, as well as preparation and successful evaluation of the Diploma Thesis, which corresponds to fifteen (15) ECTS. The lectures take place entirely remotely on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. The total tuition fees for the PMS amount to €2,000.00.
