Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering and the Department of Informatics of the School of Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia, in collaboration with the Department of Informatics of the School of Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Piraeus, organize and operate the Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program “Advanced Information Technologies and Services.”
The program lasts three (3) academic semesters and combines both theoretical and practical training. It includes two (2) semesters of courses and one (1) semester dedicated to the preparation of the master’s thesis. All courses are conducted exclusively through synchronous distance learning, offering flexibility and the ability to participate from anywhere. Instruction is provided in both Greek and English, broadening students’ academic and professional prospects.
Upon completion of the program, graduates are awarded a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in “Advanced Information Technologies and Services.” The program offers two specializations, allowing students to shape their studies according to their interests and career goals:
- Modern Telecommunication Systems, Internet Technologies, Internet of Things, and Systems Security
- Information and Communication Technologies in Education
Of particular importance is that the second specialization, Information and Communication Technologies in Education, provides graduates with pedagogical and teaching competence, in accordance with Government Gazette B’ 1730/19-03-2024, further enhancing their professional opportunities in the field of education.
Eligible applicants include graduates holding a first-cycle degree from a Higher Education Institution in Greece or an equivalent recognized institution abroad, in accordance with Article 304 of Law 4957/2022 (indicatively: graduates of Schools or Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Informatics, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Social Sciences, Economics, Law, Philosophy, Humanities, as well as Education Sciences).
Courses are scheduled to begin in October 2025, and the application deadline has been extended until September 30, 2025.
