With 73 papers and 209 participants, the annual Archaeological Meeting for the excavations of 2023 in Macedonia and Thrace will take place on 28 and 29 March 2024, in the Ceremonial Hall of the old building of the Faculty of Philosophy.

The Conference is organized by the Department of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Ministry of Culture and Sports. Archaeologists from the Archaeological Service, the Universities and foreign Archaeological Schools will present, for the 36th time, the results of their excavations, the archaeological and archaeometric documentation of their data and the projects for the enhancement of monuments in Macedonia and Thrace, from Evros to Kastoria.

The knowledge resulting from the fruitful research approaches is directly transmitted to the international scientific community through the proceedings of these archaeological meetings, which have been published every year since 1987.
