As it does every year, the heart of the holiday season beats at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). Athens’ most beloved Christmas destination is once again transformed this year into a dazzling place of celebration, filled with light and music, where young and old alike come together to share the joy, warmth, and optimism of the season.

The Ice Rink and the Dancing Fountains on the Canal, the Light Art Festival at Stavros Niarchos Park, the three towering fir trees in the Agora, and the 82 illuminated plane trees along the Canal come together to create a fairy-tale festive setting. From the lighting ceremony on November 29 through the New Year’s Eve event, concerts, performances, film screenings, DJ sets, ice skating, workshops, surprise events, and many more activities come together to form a multifaceted festive program that invites everyone to create special memories and experience the magic of Christmas at the SNFCC.

The countdown began on November 1 on the SNFCC’s social media channels and will continue through November 28, with a series of special videos that you can watch here.

The SNFCC’s Christmas World comes to life on November 29 and continues throughout the holiday season thanks to a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). All activities and events are either free or offered at a very affordable price.
