Following the rave reception of “Asphodels” in 2025, Finn Andrews’ band returns with the brand-new Fragile World, set for release on June 19 via V2 Records. Just one year after their previous album, The Veils present a record that marks a dramatic shift in their sound and energy—more direct, more raw, more urgent.

Recorded live on film in New Zealand by Paddy Hill and produced by Tom Healy (Tiny Ruins, The Chills), Fragile World captures the band at a moment of creative risk and instinct. With minimal pre-determined arrangements and Andrews sharing most of the instruments with Healy, the album was built almost from scratch, in just a few weeks, amid tension, uncertainty, and a “healthy” dose of fear.

The album’s title serves both as a commentary on an era in which institutions and certainties are crumbling and as a metaphor for the creative process itself: fragile, unstable, yet capable of giving birth to something powerful.

Ever since they signed with Rough Trade Records when Finn Andrews was just 16 years old, The Veils have released eight studio albums, building a solid reputation as one of the most compelling live bands of their generation. They’ve collaborated with El-P (Run the Jewels) on Total Depravity and have seen their music featured in films by directors such as Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton, and David Lynch.

Their live performances are legendary for their intensity and emotional depth—The Guardian speaks of “Herculean intensity,” Pitchfork of “magnetic clamor,” while The Observer notes that “Finn Andrews doesn’t breathe the same air as the rest of us.”

On November 7, Athens will experience this intensity up close. Songs that stand atop a mountain and howl toward the stars. A fragile world. An unyielding band.
