Handcrafted collectible art books published by “Diaton,” as well as rare art publications from the personal collection of the President of the Onassis Foundation, Antonis S. Papadimitriou, are showcased alongside works from the permanent collection of the Telloglion Foundation, featuring elements of typography, beginning October 27 at the Telloglion Foundation.

The new exhibition is titled “The Imprint of Art: The Making of Books and is held under the auspices of the S.A. of the President of the Republic, Mr. Konstantinos An. Tasoulas.

The exhibition is co-organized by the Teloglion Foundation of Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Onassis Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Region of Central Macedonia, in collaboration with “Diaton” Publications.

The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Deputy Minister of Education, Religion, and Sports, Professor Nikolaos G. Papaioannou, former Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Amphitheater of the Teloglion Foundation.

It should be noted that “Diaton” Publications was founded by Nikos Vozikis in 1984 and is distinguished for its specialization in and systematic production of collector’s editions of works by writers (Dionysios Solomos, Andreas Kalvos, Konstantinos Kavafis, Yannis Ritsos, Loggos, Aesop, and others) featuring original engravings by many contemporary, primarily Greek, artists (Giorgis Varlamos, Yannis Psychopedis, Chronis Botsoglou, Michalis Arfaras, Manolis Haros, Aria Komianou, Yannis Stefanakis, and others). After forty years in central Athens, the “Diaton” publishing house’s printing press continues its journey in Koropi as the Diaton / ONASSIS Gutenberg Printing Press, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, keeping the art of traditional printing alive.

A separate section of the exhibition features a unique collection of art books, kindly on loan from the personal collection of Antonis S. Papadimitriou, President of the Onassis Foundation. These iconic collector’s editions bring together major figures in the visual arts (Georges Braque, Tavy Notton, Maro Vandourou) with great texts (Sophocles, Maeterlinck, Xenakis’s sheet music, T.S. Eliot) in artistically bound volumes, creating comprehensive works of exceptional aesthetic value.

Overall responsibility for the exhibition lies with Assoc. Alexandra Goulaki-Voutyra, Associate Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and General Director of the Teloglion Foundation, is responsible for the exhibition, while Dr. Miguel F. Belmonte, an art historian from the Teloglion Foundation’s Department of Art Collections, serves as curator.

It should also be noted that educational programs will be held as part of the exhibition in collaboration with Mr. Vozikis and the Gotenberg Printing House DIATTON / ONASSIS.
