On Monday, October 19, 2026, the Ministry of Culture will publish twelve calls for expressions of interest regarding grants and/or patronage for cultural activities, as part of the programs “Creative Greece – Contemporary Culture Grants 2026” and “Greek Folk Culture – Modern Cultural Heritage Grants 2026.”

For the first time, a distinct category titled “Greek Folk Culture” has been established, which covers initiatives aimed at promoting and preserving modern cultural heritage. In the relevant calls for proposals, the official titles and descriptions of the proposals must be written in Greek. At the same time, a special bonus factor is provided for proposals from border, mountainous, and island regions, as well as from all Greek regions.

The calls for proposals in detail:

Eligible Entities and Registration in the Registry of Cultural Organizations

The calls for proposals are open to nonprofit legal entities governed by private or public law that pursue cultural and/or public benefit purposes, as specified in their articles of incorporation.

To submit a proposal, interested organizations must be registered in the Ministry of Culture’s Registry of Cultural Organizations. The registration steps are available here.

Entities that are already registered must have updated their Entity Identification Information so that it is accurate and complete at the time of proposal submission.

Organizations not yet registered in the Registry must complete the registration process by November 13, 2026. The date of registration is considered to be exclusively the date the sworn registration statement is sent to the email address [email protected], and not the date of electronic submission of the Organization’s Identity Form.

Interested organizations must submit their proposals from October 19, 2026, through November 30, 2026 (proposal submission deadline: 5:00 p.m.).

The call for expressions of interest in submitting grant applications and/or requests for patronage—for projects that will take place or whose implementation will begin in 2027—pertains to:

– film and audiovisual initiatives, as well as film festivals, will be issued by EKKOMED.

– initiatives in the fields of books, literature, and reading promotion will be issued by ELIVIP.
