A unique musical journey that highlights the timeless dialogue between Spain and Greece through the poetry, music, and collective memory of two peoples united by their shared belief in freedom, human dignity, and the power of art.

Drawing inspiration from the work of Federico García Lorca and the musical compositions of Mikis Theodorakis, the concert illuminates the deep spiritual kinship between two leading artists who transformed their art into a timeless voice for people and history.

The first part features songs from the collection *Canciones Españolas Antiguas*, set to music by Lorca, while the second part presents songs from the *Romancero Gitano* cycle, with poetry by Federico García Lorca, music by Mikis Theodorakis, and translations by Odysseas Elytis. Between the two sections, the internationally acclaimed Spanish pianist Rosa Torres-Pardo performs works by Isaac Albéniz and Manuel de Falla, creating a musical bridge between the two countries.

The concert will take place in 2026, the year marking the 90th anniversary of the assassination of Federico García Lorca and the 30th anniversary of the death of Odysseas Elytis, while also honoring the great legacy of Mikis Theodorakis and the enduring contribution of all three artists to the development of a shared cultural language between Greece and Spain. At the same time, the year 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Manuel de Falla.
