Melina Mavidou and Nikos Kyrtsos will perform for the Thessaloniki audience in a concert that also marks the first live presentation of the songs from their collaborative journey in the city.

These two young artists, who have been sharing the stage since 2018, have been expanding their collaboration to include songwriting in recent years. Nikos Kyrtsos writes the music and Melina Mavidou writes the lyrics, jointly crafting a contemporary style where pop aesthetics meet Greek lyrics.

At Aretσou Beach in Kalamaria, together with their five-piece band, they will perform their own songs as well as beloved classics from the contemporary and timeless Greek repertoire. A program that straddles the line between pop and art music, relying primarily on their on-stage chemistry, their two distinctive voices, and the stories they’ve begun to write together.

In September, she will be performing simultaneously on stage at three different venues: On September 21, in Thebes, she takes part in the national premiere of “Hercules Unleashed,” the new rock opera by Dimitris Maramis, playing the role of Hera. On September 24, she will perform alongside Nikos Kyrtsos in the concert “Together” at the “Para Thin’ Alos” Festival in Kalamaria, and on September 25, she will sing at Dimitris Maramis’s concert “Myths of Crete” at the N. Kazantzakis Garden Theater in Heraklion, Crete.

The following also holds a special place in its history to date: «Poso se Thelo» -the Termites’ favorite song- in a special cover version created for the radio station Ellinikos 93.2.

After a busy September, Melina is looking ahead to October and the release of her first full-length solo album—the next step on a journey that is just beginning.
