PARALLEL EXHIBITION
M#3, Moments, meeting, memories is a “retroactive” exhibition; both looking back at the life of Platforms project in Athens and, most importantly, gathers works, sentiments and stories from participants that reflect on the conditions of artists and their connectivity on a global and local scene. How has it served as a meeting place over the years, creating an arena for international exchanges and for experiencing art from so many different groups and artists from every corner of the globe… an exhibition that engages participants and audiences on different levels — conceptual, physical, social, and emotional — that resonate very strongly with the spirit of a project that becomes an important arena for developing and showing work, of coming together and developing concepts and ideas – and for an audience to meet a multitude of voices and images…but what remains in the recollections of an intense week of building exhibits and relationships, and what is the audience offered of this multi voiced and multi visual experience.
For those who have come year after year the different exhibitions have left both memories of art and of people making and displaying art.
There are significant moments over the years. – a strong art piece, a meeting with somebody, a feeling of inspiration for ones´ own continuing art practice. To work and submit a project each year as a team.
Meeting so many visitors and artists, is a rare and unique experience. Communicating with all those people who love art. Platforms isn’t hierarchical. Artists of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities interact and engage on the same level.
