September marks a return to the rhythm of everyday life and, with it, our reconnection with the fabric of the city. Taking the city as its starting point—but also nature and the universe—the exhibition The World of the Avant-Garde: City, Nature, Universe, Humanity invites us to see the world through a different lens as we return to our own daily lives.

The exhibition—along with its public program—will run through September 27, 2026, at which time we will bid farewell to the Costakis Collection with a two-day event featuring an academic discussion, a documentary screening, a musical event, guided tours led by the exhibition curators, and educational programs.

Two more exhibitions at the Main Building will come to a close in September: the public will have the opportunity, through September 30, to visit the exhibitions *Francisco Goya, Los Caprichos and Changing Grounds, Supplementary narratives from the National Gallery Archive by Natasa Bizas.

Periodic exhibitions continue at the branches of the National Gallery of Greece: in Corfu, the Alekos Fassianos exhibition, Under the Summer Sun; at the Koumantareios Art Gallery in Sparta, the Wassili Lepanto exhibition, Landscapes of the Soul; and in Nafplio, the Eleni Pavlopoulou-Zoeforos exhibition. “Landscapes of the Soul,” and in Nafplio, the Eleni Pavlopoulou-Zoeforos exhibition. The “Open Horizons” exhibition also continues at the Old Customs House in Nafplio.
