This is the 5th Kavala International Summer School, organized by Anatolia American University (NPBE), the Institute of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Affairs Institute, FAINST), and Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. The sessions will be conducted in English.

The program is intended for advanced undergraduate students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates, as well as faculty members and professionals, primarily from the fields of political science, international relations, law, history, and diplomacy.

Conference participants will come together for an intensive week of learning, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration, focusing on key issues currently affecting the Eastern Mediterranean. The 2026 event focuses on the interrelated concepts of tolerance, geopolitics, and good-neighborly relations, examining how diplomacy, international cooperation, and mutual understanding can contribute to peace, stability, and the development of sustainable regional partnerships among Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, and the wider region.

In addition to academics and researchers from Anatolia University, the Foreign Affairs Institute, and Friedrich Schiller University, professors from the University of Athens and Marmara University in Istanbul will deliver lectures this year.

Scholarships, Information, and Application Form

This year’s summer school will be attended by male and female students from Europe and the Near East. At the same time, with the support of the Dukakis Center at Anatolia University and the Foreign Affairs Institute, a significant number of scholarships will be awarded to young men and women from Greece and abroad to participate in the Summer School.
