KAPROS 2026 takes place from August 22 to September 6 in Upper Tséria, Messinia.
Ten different artists at seven locations throughout the village, spread across three settlements, create an atmosphere focused on the image. Primarily photography or works inspired by the composition of the image are displayed from the bus stop to the elementary school, from the cafes to the municipal office, and in a parking lot. Furthermore, a house under renovation and a courtyard contribute to the effort to reinterpret and repurpose municipal and public spaces.
This is not an act of protest, but a dialogue with the public, inspired by works from other regions of the country or even further afield.
Photographs, animations, collages, painted positive film strips, and short films alert visitors that the village has become a large-scale gallery. The setting of the stone settlement has been taken over by individuals who express themselves through their own experiences or obsessions, always affirming their connection to the daily life of the place.
Workshops, talks, and guided tours will be part of the KAPROS 2026 program, along with surprise events for the audience.
