A filmmaker, artist, writer, and one of the boldest voices of our time. On the occasion of her new novel, “All Fours”, Miranda July is coming from Los Angeles to Athens and challenges us to rethink the institutions of marriage and family. A conversation with Afroditi Panagiotakou, Artistic Director of the Onassis Foundation, as well as a program of screenings and experiments, fill the Onassis Cultural Center with many and varied “Mirandas.”

Miranda July creates works that defy categorization and embrace multiple forms of expression, ranging from film and literature to the visual arts and performance. Many of these have been featured at MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Whitney Biennial. She chose the surname July from a fictional character when she was 15 and officially adopted it at 20. The iconic New Yorker has written about her: “Miranda July is a master of plot. Stories appear before her like a gift from the gods, and all she has to do is unravel them.”

On Thursday, April 30, Miranda July will be at the Onassis Cultural Center for a discussion with Afroditi Panagiotakou, Artistic Director of the Onassis Foundation. Following the discussion, the feature film “Me and You and Everyone We Know,” which she directed, will be screened on the Main Stage. This is an unusual story of a group of ordinary people that won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (2005) and the Golden Camera Award at the Cannes Film Festival (2005).
