The memorandum of cooperation was signed at the Anatolia American University campus in Thessaloniki by the Rector of Anatolia American University, Dr. Stamos Karamouzis, and the founder and President of the Institute, Professor of Finance at the University of Piraeus, Nikolaos Filippas.
The agreement reflects the two organizations’ intention to develop a long-term partnership aimed at fostering the knowledge and skills needed to make informed and effective financial decisions at the personal or family level.
Through its initiatives, the Institute reaches out to all segments of society, with a particular focus on children and adolescents. At the same time, it develops programs for other vulnerable social groups, such as the unemployed, women, retirees, and immigrants. “Financial education is one of the most important skills young people can acquire today, as it gives them the tools to make responsible and informed decisions about their future,” said Dr. Stamos Karamouzis, President of Anatolia American University. “At Anatolia American University, we believe that this knowledge must be cultivated from an early age and be accessible to as many young people as possible.
We are particularly pleased about our partnership with the Institute for Financial Literacy and look forward to developing joint initiatives that will strengthen the financial literacy of the younger generation and help create more informed and financially responsible citizens .”
For his part, Professor Nikolaos Filippas emphasized that “in an era of global economic challenges and heightened uncertainty, financial literacy is more important than ever. The collaboration between the Institute of Financial Literacy and Anatolia American University creates new opportunities and opens new avenues for strengthening the financial literacy of young people, as well as other social groups in Northern Greece, so that they can better understand economic developments and plan their future with greater confidence and greater financial independence.”
