The Municipality of Agia, the Omolio Forestry Cooperative, the Omolio Cultural Association, the Dimitra Vocational Training Institute, and the Network for Culture, Environment, and Sustainable Development – Peneios Delta –Tembon are organizing two group hikes in Kissavos on December 11 entitled “In the footsteps of Alexander the Great” and in Kissavos and Omolio on Sunday, December 14, 2025 entitled “Discover Kissavos” on a unique walk on the outskirts of Kissavos, full of nature, history, and local flavors.

⏰ 09:00 | Meet and Greek

  • Participants gather at a predetermined starting point (Omolio).
  • Brief presentation of the route and historical introduction.

⏰ 09:30 | Start of Hiking

  • A route through the forest, following the path rumored to have been taken by Alexander the Great.
  • Stops for narration of historical events and myths.

⏰ 12:30 | Stop at Viewpoint & Poetic Presentation

  • A short break with readings of texts inspired by nature, heroism, and history.
  • Optional participation of hikers with readings of their favorite verses.

⏰ 14:00 | Arrival and Light Lunch

  • Festive conclusion of the event with local delicacies and tsipouro.
