
The National Gallery-Alexandros Soutsos Museum welcomes December with a rich visual arts and educational program, as well as original musical events. In a festive and bright atmosphere, the National Gallery welcomes its visitors with something for everyone, young and old alike, with special events that offer knowledge and entertainment.
In addition to guided tours of the museum’s exhibitions, original educational Christmas activities, Christmas bazaars, and other special events, such as a series of musical events that connect specific paintings from the EPMAS Collection with classical Western music. Masterpieces from the musical repertoire will “converse” with works from the permanent collection through short concerts by the Athens Classical Players. In addition, final-year students from the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina will present, in a short guitar recital, the great musical work of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Caprichos de Goya op. 195, which is based on works presented in the EPMA’s temporary exhibition entitled Francisco Goya, Los Caprichos.
Finally, on December 3, on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with the National Institute for the Deaf, there will be a guided tour of the Panagiotis Tetsis exhibition, The Endurance of the Gaze, with simultaneous interpretation in sign language.
