Directly from Greece, renowned director and actor Renos Haralambidis will join the audience of the Greek Film Festival of Australia on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in an interesting discussion about his latest poetic film creation, “Athens Midnight Radio.”

Film buffs will discover behind-the-scenes information about the film and the inspiration behind its central idea, which seems to bring together personal trauma in the shadow of ancient Athens.

About the film

A veteran nighttime radio producer, on the evening of his fiftieth birthday, realizes with embarrassment that he has left his youth behind him for good. As he recounts his life on air, through messages heard on a forgotten answering machine, a distant, unfulfilled youthful love comes to the fore. His time as a soldier, the silent nighttime audience, a midnight marathon, the dimly lit antiquities, and the evening landscape are intertwined with nostalgia, dreamlike with radio waves…
