ESTIA Neas Smyrnsi is organizing the presentation of a catalog and a special exhibition of embroidery entitled:

“WITH NEEDLE AND THREAD – Embroidery from Asia Minor and Thrace”

The event is organized in collaboration with the PETALOUDA Thread Industry
(EL. MOUZAKIS – ATHENS).

This unique, dual event offers the public the opportunity to explore the history and culture of Asia Minor and Thrace
through original embroideries that highlight the art and cultural heritage of places full of memories and creativity.

– Ms. Anastasia Kapsis-Papadatos, President of ESTIA Nea Smyrni

– Ms. Eleftheria Mouzaki, President of PETALOUDAS Thread Industry

Lectures:
– Ms. Lila De Chaves, ethnologist, author, and founder of the non-profit organization Heritage & Museums

Awards:

>> Prizes will be awarded to participants in the Asia Minor and Thrace Embroidery Competition, organized by the PETALOUDA Industry as part of the events marking the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
The result of the competition is this Embroidery Exhibition and the accompanying Catalogue, which is presented at the event.

Guiding Tours:

– Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the exhibition and enjoy the unique exhibits—original embroideries that preserve the tradition and artistic expression of these regions.
