The National Library of Greece (NLG) presents the next thematic screening with items from its collections, in the atrium of the 4th floor, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

This year marks 100 years since the birth and 20 years since the death of Manolis Anagnostakis. Although he fell silent (publicly) early, his work remains timeless and indestructible, making him arguably the most distinctive representative of the first post-war generation. His poetry, universally political, insightful and realistic, is widely read and sung.

On the occasion of this anniversary, the NLG exhibits items from its General Collection relating to Anagnostakis’ work, including rare editions of his poems, samples of his multidimensional presence (books under a pseudonym, anthologies, collective volumes), his important journal Kritiki, studies on his work and translations of his work in European languages.
