The artist Maria Kasapoglou will present her works in Chania next August, from 25/08/2025 to 31/08/2025 at Yali Jamisi (the old Venetian port of Chania) with the title “People”.

A realistic rendering of reality that shows the pleasure of water, summer and tranquility in the uniqueness of silence.

Images inspired by moments of everyday life rendered through humanity and the childlike nature of spontaneously arising emotions.

Maria Kasapoglou was born in Athens in 1986 and is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens (2007-2017).

She studied photography and audiovisual arts at the Athens Technological Educational Institute (ATEI), and then entered the Athens School of Fine Arts. He attended painting classes at the 4th workshop with Mr. Panagiotis Charalambous and Mr. Michalis Manousakis.

She has held 10 personal exhibitions and has participated in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

In the past, she has given voluntary painting lessons to primary and secondary school children for 5 years, supporting the Municipality of Lykovrisi – Pefkis culturally and artistically.

She was involved in the theatre as an assistant for the construction of sets and costumes.

She has undertaken the illustration (medical illustration) of medical encyclopedias and has collaborated with well-known doctors in Greece and abroad for the “visual” programming of their lectures.

Her works can be found in the archives of the Catholic Metropolis and in the Municipality of Naxos, for the enrichment of the local Gallery.

She collaborated with the artistic activities of Alexandros Kalogeras (Professor in the Department of Music Composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston), enriching his musical work with images.

She presented her work at the Megaro Gyzi in Santorini and was often found to participate in various events of her home town.

Her work (self-portrait) has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The painter is an active supporter of visual arts in Greece and participates in the promotion of Greek artists abroad.
