A Memorandum of Understanding between the Hellenic Open University (HOU) and the University of Nicosia was signed on 14 January 2025.

The Hellenic Open University was represented by the Rector, Professor Emmanuel Koutouzis, while the University of Nicosia was represented by the Rector, Philip Pouyoutas. Also, during the signing of the Memorandum, the Director of the joint Postgraduate Programme in Banking, Accounting and Finance, Professor Petros Lois and the Coordinator of the joint postgraduate programmes, Ms. Anthi Tziakoura, were present from the University of Nicosia.

The cooperation framework of the MoU contains:

• the cooperation of the contracting educational institutions in promoting the educational, social and research work of the contracting institutions, promoting the contribution of the contracting universities to the development of the societies at local and regional level,
• The development of broader scientific and research partnerships,
• And strengthening high quality university teaching and learning.

Through the Memorandum of Understanding, the Hellenic Open University renews its cooperation ties with the University of Nicosia, expanding its educational and research activities, utilizing its educational and research staff, with a view to its social and educational role.
