Ersi Gallery on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 19:30 opens the exhibition of KOSTAS TSARAS entitled “Primordial Values“. A look at the artist’s multifaceted work, focusing on the painting of abstraction incorporated into his highly experiential and prominent mode of expression.

“Rare have become the opportunities for the contemporary art critic to practice his profession with his mind and soul free to let himself be carried away by his feelings, without referring to the terms ‘avant-garde’, ‘revolution in art,’ ‘anti-art’, etc. For this reason, we owe a tribute to the painter Kostas Tsaras for this comfort and ease alone in approaching his work. Right from the start, the viewer experiences a feeling of breathing an air more pure, of treading on a ground more solid. The explanation for this is simple: whether Tsaras is translating his inner universe or capturing a fleeting view of the real world, he does so with such sincerity that everything suddenly rediscovers its pre-existing worthiness….

…The artist transcribes his personal vision of the world through an almost cryptographic code: in the highly organized space of his paintings, each mark has a determined place, its own role. He tames the impetuosity of nature and his inspiration with a strict discipline and yet, the magic of his writing is preserved and immanent in all his works”
